Currently playing in the store is today’s release of Sigur Ros’ Kveikur (pronounced “quaker” as in Kveikur Oats). Sigur Ros has always been a tough one to play in a retail environment seeing as their lyrics are in Icelandic and are more apt to show up on movie soundtracks than at Club Whateverthefuck. Usually, their time to shine is at 3am in the dark after your drug of choice sets in and it’s almost time to accidentally pass out on the concrete floor. However you decide to listen to Sigur Ros, Kveikur hits more aggressive and rhythmic than their floaty releases of yesteryear. A great comeback from last years Valtari and their closest thing to a punch-in-the-face.
